Nick Klose

Hi! I'm Nick, a Canadian game designer, software developer, and musician.

I'm currently a Game Programmer at Improbable.

I hold a BSc from the University of Alberta in Computer Science.

Want to see some of the stuff I've worked on?

Improbable

Game Programmer (May 2019-present)

Gameplay and UX programming for an unannounced multiplayer RPG.

BioWare

Technical UX Designer (May 2017—May 2019)

UX design and implementation for the 2019 title Anthem.

University of Alberta

Worked for multiple departments as a software developer, IT technician, and computer instructor.

BSc Computer Science, minor in Mathematical Sciences.

Other Projects

Here's some stuff I've done aside from my regular job work.

AlbertaSat Ex-Alta 1 CubeSat

I collaborated with other members of AlbertaSat to write code that managed the ADCS (Attitude & Determination Control System) for a small science satellite, which was launched and then deployed from the International Space Station in 2017.

Image Steganography

As part of my fascination with cryptography and steganography, I wrote a desktop app that allows you to hide text in arbitrary images by slightly shifting pixel values.

Image Correlation Spectroscopy

ICS is an application which enables chemistry graduate students to simulate and analyze microscope images to study biological membranes.

YardleSat

I created a simple mod for Kerbal Space Program which combines a battery, monopropellant tank, probe core, SAS, and reaction wheel into a single satellite base part.

CrowdSim

A Unity project which implements a crowd simulation in arbitrary environments. As part of this I realistically modeled the ground floor of the ETLC building at the university.

Music Projects

I've been creating and performing music for many years. You can listen to a sample of my piano music here.
